According to many sources the Detroit Lions have agreed to terms with Georgia QB Matthew Stafford. The deal has been rumored to be 6-year $80 million and around $40 million guaranteed. The Lions are disputing these rumors but still several sources are claiming they are just trying to leverage for a better deal.

Mark Sanchez Gaining Ground on Stafford
According to numerous sources Mark Sanchez is gaining ground on Matthew Stafford in the quest to be the first QB taken off the board. Several teams are saying that they feel is the better quarterback. One big rumor is that several teams are considering moving up into the top 5 to go after Mark Sanchez.
It may not matter considering that the Lions are strongly rumored to be taking Matthew Stafford. The Lions President said the pick likely wouldn't please the fans and most of the fans clearly want Aaron Curry or Jason Smith.
